Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said on Saturday that negotiations with the Islamic Republic are ongoing, but he expressed dissatisfaction with Tehran's approach, stating, "They got a little clever," although he emphasized that the talks are making progress. He added, "They got a little clever, just as they have been doing for 47 years."

He said, "They wanted to close the Strait again, just as they have been doing for years. They can't extort us." Trump added that he would have "more information" on this by the end of the day.

Trump also stated, "We are in talks with them, and as you know, we have taken a tough stance. They have killed a lot of people. Many of our people have been killed."

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، روز شنبه گفت مذاکرات با جمهوری اسلامی ادامه دارد، اما از رویکرد تهران ابراز نارضایتی کرد و گفت «آن‌ها کمی زرنگ‌بازی درآوردند»، هرچند تاکید کرد گفت‌وگوها در حال پیشرفت است. او افزود: «آن‌ها کمی زرنگ‌بازی درآوردند، همان‌طور که ۴۷ سال است این کار را می‌کنند.»

او گفت: «آن‌ها می‌خواستند دوباره تنگه را ببندند، همان‌طور که سال‌هاست انجام می‌دهند. آن‌ها نمی‌توانند از ما باج بگیرند.» ترامپ افزود تا پایان روز «اطلاعات بیشتری» در این باره خواهد داشت.

ترامپ همچنین گفت: «ما با آن‌ها در حال گفت‌وگو هستیم و همان‌طور که می‌دانید، موضع سختی اتخاذ کرده‌ایم. آن‌ها افراد زیادی را کشتند. تعداد زیادی از افراد ما کشته شدند.»
