On Sunday, April 30, 2026, the New York Post reported that an Iranian businesswoman with a U.S. green card has been arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on charges of participating in arms transactions for the Islamic Republic.
According to the Central District Attorney's Office of California, 44-year-old Shamim Mafi, a resident of Woodland Hills, was arrested on Saturday evening and is accused of facilitating transactions involving drones, bombs, and millions of rounds of ammunition for shipment to Sudan.
Court documents reveal that Mafi, who left Iran in 2013 and obtained permanent residency in the U.S. in 2016 during Barack Obama's presidency, conducted these transactions through a registered company in Oman named "Atlas International Business."
Among these transactions is a contract worth over $70 million for the sale of "Mohajer-6" drones manufactured by the Iranian Ministry of Defense. These drones, along with 55,000 bomb fuses, were transferred as part of transactions with the Sudanese Ministry of Defense; a country that has been embroiled in civil war since 2023.

روزنامه نیویورک پست، روز یکشنبه ۳۰ فروردین ۱۴۰۵ گزارش داد، یک زن بازرگان ایرانی دارای گرین کارت آمریکا به اتهام مشارکت در معاملات تسلیحاتی جمهوری اسلامی، در فرودگاه بینالمللی لس آنجلس، بازداشت شده است.
بر اساس اعلام دادستانی حوزه مرکزی ایالت کالیفرنیا، شمیم مافی، ۴۴ ساله و ساکن «وودلند هیلز»، شامگاه شنبه بازداشت و به واسطهگری در معاملات پهپاد، بمب و میلیونها فشنگ برای ارسال به سودان متهم شده است.
طبق اسناد دادگاه، مافی که در سال ۱۳۹۲ ایران را ترک کرده و در سال ۱۳۹۵ در دوران ریاستجمهوری باراک اوباما اقامت دائم آمریکا را دریافت کرده بود، از طریق یک شرکت ثبتشده در عمان با نام «اطلس اینترنشنال بیزنس» اقدام به این معاملات کرده است.
در میان این معاملات، قراردادی به ارزش بیش از ۷۰ میلیون دلار برای فروش پهپادهای «مهاجر-۶» ساخت وزارت دفاع ایران ذکر شده است. این پهپادها به همراه ۵۵ هزار چاشنی بمب، در قالب معاملاتی با وزارت دفاع سودان منتقل شدهاند؛ کشوری که از سال ۲۰۲۳ درگیر جنگ داخلی است.
