Three Israeli security and military agencies claimed in a joint statement that they have identified and arrested an operational cell linked to Iran in Azerbaijan, which, according to these agencies, intended to attack a strategic oil pipeline in the country.

This pipeline transports oil from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey to Israel.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, the Mossad (foreign intelligence agency), the Israel Defense Forces, and the Shin Bet (internal security agency) stated in this announcement that this network had also planned attacks on Jewish and Israeli targets in Azerbaijan, including the Israeli embassy and a synagogue in Baku. They mentioned that suspects related to this matter have been arrested.

According to the claims of these three Israeli military and security agencies, this activity was directed by the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

سه نهاد امنیتی و نظامی اسرائیل در بیانیهٔ مشترکی مدعی شناسایی و بازداشت یک هستهٔ عملیاتی مرتبط با ایران در جمهوری آذربایجان شدند که به گفتهٔ این نهادها، قصد داشت به یک خط لوله نفتی استراتژیک در این کشور حمله کند.

این خظ لوله از طریق جمهوری آذربایجان، گرجستان و ترکیه به اسرائیل نفت منتقل می‌کند.

به گزارش یدیعوت آحرونوت، سازمان اطلاعات خارجی (موساد)، ارتش اسرائیل و سازمان امنیت داخلی (شین‌بت) در این بیانیه گفته‌اند که این شبکه همچنین حملاتی را به اهداف یهودی و اسرائیلی در آذربایجان، از جمله سفارت اسرائیل و یک کنیسه در باکو، برنامه‌ریزی کرده بود. آن‌ها گفته‌اند که مظنونانی در این رابطه بازداشت شده‌اند.

به ادعای این سه نهاد نظامی و امنیتی اسرائیل، این فعالیت توسط واحد عملیات برون مرزی سپاه پاسداران، نیروی قدس، هدایت شده بود.
