Tim Cook announced that he will step down as CEO of Apple at the beginning of September and will serve as the chairman of the board of the company. Cook, who has led Apple since 2011, will be succeeded by John Ternus, the head of hardware.
During Cook's management, Apple's annual profit quadrupled to over $110 billion, and the company's value increased more than tenfold to around $4 trillion.
John Ternus, who joined Apple in 2001, has been promoted within the company's management structure while overseeing the development of the Mac and iPad. He will be the eighth CEO of Apple in the past 50 years and the third CEO since Steve Jobs' return in 1997.

در دوران مدیریت کوک، سود سالانه اپل چهار برابر شد و به بیش از ۱۱۰ میلیارد دلار رسید و ارزش این شرکت نیز بیش از ده برابر افزایش یافت و به حدود ۴ تریلیون دلار رسید.
جان ترنس که از سال ۲۰۰۱ به اپل پیوسته، با نظارت بر توسعه مک و آیپد در ساختار مدیریتی شرکت ارتقا یافته است. او هشتمین مدیرعامل اپل در ۵۰ سال گذشته و سومین مدیرعامل از زمان بازگشت استیو جابز در سال ۱۹۹۷ خواهد بود.
