The Washington Post reported, citing an Iranian official, that the tone of Donald Trump's public statements and the ongoing U.S. blockade are two main obstacles to progress in negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

According to the newspaper, a Pakistani official also stated that mediators have warned Trump about the consequences of this tone and have urged him to allow the negotiations in Islamabad to appear as a "win-win" outcome for both sides.

The Washington Post also quoted an Iranian official as saying that the two sides have largely reached an understanding on the overall framework of the agreement, but Trump's public "maximalism" could undermine the diplomatic process.

روزنامه واشینگتن‌پست به نقل از یک مقام ایرانی گزارش داد لحن اظهارات علنی دونالد ترامپ و ادامه محاصره آمریکا، دو مانع اصلی در مسیر پیشرفت مذاکرات میان تهران و واشینگتن هستند.

به نوشته این روزنامه، یک مقام پاکستانی نیز اعلام کرد میانجی‌ها به ترامپ درباره پیامدهای این لحن هشدار داده‌اند و از او خواسته‌اند اجازه دهد مذاکرات اسلام‌آباد به‌عنوان نتیجه‌ای «برد-برد» برای هر دو طرف جلوه کند.

واشینگتن‌پست همچنین به نقل از یک مقام ایرانی نوشت دو طرف تا حد زیادی بر سر چارچوب کلی توافق به تفاهم رسیده‌اند، اما «حداکثرخواهی» علنی ترامپ می‌تواند روند دیپلماتیک را تضعیف کند.
