The U.S. Department of Defense announced that its forces inspected and seized the sanctioned and stateless tanker "Tiffany" in the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility. Previously, the U.S. had placed the company "ANSAY," which manages the ship, on the sanctions list due to its involvement in transporting Iranian oil and conducting ship-to-ship transfers with sanctioned tankers. According to the United States, the "Tiffany" vessel loaded Iranian oil twice in the Singapore area while its tracking system was turned off. Iranian media referred to this action as the seizure of the second Iranian ship by the U.S. since the onset of the maritime blockade of Iranian ports.

وزارت جنگ آمریکا اعلام کرد نیروهای این کشور نفتکش تحریمشده و بدون تابعیت «تیفانی» را در حوزه مسئولیت هند-اقیانوس آرام بازرسی و توقیف کردند.
پیشتر آمریکا شرکت «ایاناسای» را که مدیریت این کشتی را بر عهده دارد، بهدلیل مشارکت در حمل نفت ایران و انجام انتقال کشتیبهکشتی با نفتکشهای تحریمشده، در فهرست تحریمها قرار داده بود.
بر اساس اعلام ایالات متحده، کشتی «تیفانی» دو بار در محدوده سنگاپور و در شرایطی که سامانه رهگیری خود را خاموش کرده بود، اقدام به بارگیری نفت ایران کرد.
رسانههای ایران از این اقدام بهعنوان توقیف دومین کشتی ایران از سوی آمریکا پس از آغاز محاصره دریایی بنادر ایران نام بردند.
