Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and head of the Islamic Republic's negotiating team, wrote in his message on the social media platform X on the second of Ordibehesht:

"A complete ceasefire only makes sense if it is not violated by a maritime blockade and the hostage-taking of the world's economy, and if the warmongering of the Zionists is halted on all fronts; reopening the Strait of Hormuz is not possible with a blatant violation of the ceasefire." He added: "They did not achieve their goals through military aggression, and they will not succeed through bullying either. The only way is to accept the rights of the Iranian people."

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that he has extended the temporary ceasefire with Iran, but the maritime blockade will continue. In a statement, he said that this decision was made following requests from Pakistani officials, including Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif, to give Tehran the opportunity to present a unified proposal.

محمدباقر قالیباف، رییس مجلس شورای اسلامی و مسوول تیم مذاکره کننده جمهوری اسلامی روز دوم اردیبهشت در پیام خود در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس نوشت:

«آتش بس کامل وقتی معنا دارد که با محاصره دریایی و گروگان گیری اقتصاد دنیا نقض نشود و جنگ افروزی صهیونیست ها در همه جبهه ها متوقف باشد؛ بازگشایی تنگه هرمز با نقض فاحش آتش بس ممکن نیست.» او افزود: «با تجاوز نظامی به اهداف خود نرسیدند، با قلدری هم نخواهند رسید. تنها راه، پذیرش حقوق ملت ایران است.»

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهور آمریکا اعلام کرد که آتش بس موقت با ایران را تمدید کرده، اما محاصره دریایی همچنان ادامه خواهد داشت. او در بیانیه‌ای گفت که این تصمیم در پی درخواست مقام های پاکستانی، از جمله عاصم منیر و شهباز شریف، اتخاذ شده تا تهران فرصت ارائه یک پیشنهاد یکپارچه را داشته باشد.
