Fars News Agency, close to the Revolutionary Guards, reported that the sound of air defenses in Tehran and several other cities in Iran on Thursday evening was a reaction to "the presence of drones and small UAVs in several locations across the country."

This news agency did not mention the origin of these drones. Earlier, Israeli media, citing sources in the country's military, had denied that an attack by Israel against Iran took place on Thursday night.

Mehr News Agency also stated that the air defense was "engaging hostile targets."

خبرگزاری فارس، نزدیک به سپاه پاسداران، گزارش داد که صدای پدافندها در تهران و چند شهر دیگر ایران در شامگاه پنج‌شنبه واکنش به «حضور ریزپرنده‌ها و پهپادهای کوچک در چند نقطه از کشور» بود.

این خبرگزاری اشاره‌ای به مبدا پرتاب این پهپادها نکرد. پیشتر رسانه‌های اسرائیل به نقل از منابعی در ارتش این کشور انجام حمله از سوی اسرائیل علیه ایران در پنج‌شنبه شب را رد کرده بودند.

خبرگزاری مهر هم گفته بود که پدافند در حال «مقابله با اهداف متخاصم» است.
