Donald Trump, the President of the United States, confirmed in an interview with Axios the cancellation of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's trip to Islamabad, stating: "I see no reason to send them on an 18-hour flight under the current circumstances of negotiations. It's too long. We can easily talk on the phone. If the Iranians want, they can contact us. We will not travel just to sit there."

Trump further responded to whether the decision not to send negotiators means the start of war again, saying: "No, it doesn't mean that. We haven't thought about it yet."

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا در گفتگو با آکسیوس با تایید خبر لغو سفر استیو ویتکاف و جرد کوشنر به اسلام‌آباد، گفت: «دلیلی نمی‌بینم که آن‌ها را در شرایط کنونی مذاکرات با یک پرواز ۱۸ ساعته بفرستم. خیلی طولانی است. ما می‌توانیم به راحتی تلفنی صحبت کنیم. ایرانی‌ها اگر بخواهند می‌توانند با ما تماس بگیرند. ما برای این که برویم و فقط آن‌جا بنشینیم، سفر نخواهیم کرد.»

ترامپ در ادامه در پاسخ به این‌که آیا تصمیم به نفرستادن مذاکره‌کنندگان به معنی شروع دوباره جنگ است یا خیر، گفت: «نه به این معنی نیست. هنوز درباره آن فکر نکرده‌ایم.»
