The U.S. Treasury Secretary warned the Islamic Republic that if the maritime blockade of its ports continues, it will face a gasoline shortage.

Scott Basset wrote on the social media platform X on Monday, "The remaining leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are like drowning rats trapped in a sewer pipe," as "Iran's dilapidated oil industry has begun to reduce production due to the maritime blockade imposed by the U.S." He stated that oil production in Iran will soon collapse and "a gasoline shortage in Iran is on the way!"

وزیر‌ خزانه‌داری آمریکا به جمهوری اسلامی هشدار داد که با ادامه محاصره دریایی بنادر آن، شاهد کمبود بنزین خواهد بود.

اسکات بسنت روز دوشنبه در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس نوشت «رهبران باقی‌مانده سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی مانند موش‌های در حال غرق شدن در یک لوله فاضلاب گرفتار شده‌اند» چرا که «صنعت نفت فرسوده ایران به دلیل محاصره دریایی [اعمال شده از سوی ]آمریکا شروع به کاهش تولید کرده است.»
او گفت تولید نفت در ایران به‌زودی فرو خواهد پاشید و «کمبود بنزین در ایران در راه است!»
