A man in India exhumed his sister's skeleton and took it to the bank as proof of death

According to the Times of India, a man in the state of Odisha in eastern India, after being unable to withdraw his deceased sister's bank deposit, exhumed her skeleton and protested in front of a rural bank in the village of Malipasi; an action that caused panic among bank staff and led to police presence at the scene.

The report states that his sister passed away about two months ago and had nearly 19,300 rupees, equivalent to about 200 dollars, in her account. Bank officials had refused to release the funds due to the lack of legal documentation and had asked him to provide a death certificate.

Police stated that the man, unfamiliar with the administrative process, brought the remains of the body to the bank as evidence instead of obtaining the necessary documents. Ultimately, with police intervention, he was persuaded to re-bury the skeleton and to provide the required documentation to receive the money.

مردی در هند اسکلت خواهرش را از قبر بیرون کشید و به عنوان گواهی فوت به بانک برد

به گزارش تایمز هند، یک مرد در ایالت اودیشا در شرق هند پس از آنکه نتوانست سپرده بانکی خواهر فوت‌شده‌اش را برداشت کند، اسکلت او را از محل دفن خارج کرد و مقابل یک بانک روستایی در روستای مالی‌پاسی اعتراض کرد؛ اقدامی که باعث وحشت کارکنان بانک و حضور پلیس در محل شد.

بر اساس این گزارش، خواهر او حدود دو ماه پیش فوت کرده و در حساب خود نزدیک به ۱۹۳۰۰ روپیه، معادل حدود ۲۰۰ دلار، سپرده داشت. مسئولان بانک به دلیل نبود مدارک قانونی از پرداخت این مبلغ خودداری کرده بودند و از او خواسته بودند گواهی فوت ارائه کند.

پلیس اعلام کرد این مرد به دلیل ناآشنایی با روند اداری، به‌جای تهیه مدارک، بقایای جسد را به‌عنوان مدرک به بانک برده است. در نهایت با مداخله پلیس، او متقاعد شد اسکلت را دوباره دفن کند و برای دریافت پول، مدارک لازم را ارائه دهد.
