Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said in a recent audio message that the United States has "entered a new phase and wants to activate economic pressure and internal divisions through maritime blockade and media propaganda to weaken or even collapse us from within."
He further stated that "the best evidence of this is Trump's positions, which explicitly divide the country into hardliners and moderates, and then immediately speaks of maritime blockade to force Iran into submission through economic pressure and internal conflicts."
In this audio file, released on Wednesday, April 28, he called for "maintaining cohesion" and threatened that "any divisive action is completely part of the enemy's new plan."

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, said: "The enemy intended to overthrow the regime by killing the leader and commanders within three days, but it failed in this plan."
He added: "The enemy's plans to weaken military capability, disintegrate the country, and create internal unrest have failed one after another."
The Speaker also stated: "The enemy has entered a new phase and is seeking to weaken the Islamic Republic through economic pressure, maritime blockade, and sowing discord."
He added: "As someone who is in the midst of the field, I tell the Iranian people not to worry; we officials are all following the orders of the country's leader."

Qalibaf claimed that the United States had planned a coup for the Fire Festival (Chaharshanbe Suri) in 1404 but that this plan failed.
He also reiterated the claim of America's attempt to deploy forces in Isfahan, describing it as a failed operation and a "scandal like Tabas."

محمدباقر قالیباف، رئیس مجلس شورای اسلامی، در یک پیام صوتی تازه گفت که ایالات متحده «وارد مرحله جدیدی شده است و می‌خواهد با محاصره دریایی و جوسازی‌های رسانه‌ای، فشار اقتصادی و اختلاف‌های داخل کشور را فعال کند تا ما را از درون دچار ضعف یا حتی فروپاشی کند.»
او در ادامه هم گفت که «بهترین شاهد هم این مواضع ترامپ است که صراحتاً کشور را به دو دسته تندرو و میانه‌رو تقسیم می‌کند و بعد هم بلافاصله از محاصره دریایی سخن می‌گوید تا ایران را از طریق فشار اقتصادی و اختلاف‌های داخلی مجبور به تسلیم کند.»
محمدباقر قالیباف در این فایل صوتی که روز چهارشنبه ۹ اردیبهشت منتشر شده خواستار «حفظ انسجام» شده و تهدید کرده است که «هر اقدام اختلاف‌افکنانه‌ای کاملاً در طرح جدید دشمن قرار دارد.»

او افزود: «به عنوان کسی که وسط میدان هستم به ملت ایران عرض می‌کنم نگران نباشید؛ ما مسئولان همگی تابع امر رهبر کشور هستیم.»

قالیباف مدعی شد که ایالات متحده برای انجام کودتا در روز چهارشنبه‌سوری سال ۱۴۰۴ برنامه‌ریزی کرده بود اما این طرح شکست خورد.
او همچنین ادعای تلاش آمریکا برای پیاده کردن نیرو در اصفهان را نیز تکرار کرد و آن‌ را شکست خورده و «رسوایی مانند طبس» توصیف کرد.
