او که در دفتر بیضی کاخ سفید و در دیدار با فضانوردان مأموریت «آرتمیس ۲» با خبرنگاران صحبت می‌کرد، در پاسخ به این سوال که تا چه مدت آمادگی حفظ این محاصره را دارد، گفت: «این محاصره یک اقدام فوق‌العاده هوشمندانه است.»
او بار دیگر با اشاره به نابودی ظرفیت‌های نظامی ایران شامل از بین رفتن نیروی دریایی و نیروی هوایی ایران گفت: «حالا آنها باید شکست را بپذیرند و بگویند "تسلیم می‌شویم". تنها کاری که باید انجام دهند، همین است.»
