Scott Basset, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, wrote in a post on the social media platform X: "It's very hard for the mice in the sewer to understand what's happening in the outside world. A little light for the leaders of Iran who are truly sitting in the dark:

1. The United States has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz.

2. [In Iran] there is a shortage of foreign currency, meaning U.S. dollars.

3. [In Iran] food and gasoline rationing is in place.

4. The entire international community is against Iran.

5. The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will continue until freedom of navigation is restored as it was before February 27."

The U.S. Treasury Department also issued a statement today warning that any individual or company, whether American or foreign, that pays "fees" to Iran for passage through the Strait of Hormuz is at risk of violating U.S. sanctions against Iran.

اسکات بسنت، وزیر دارایی آمریکا، در پستی در شبکه اجتماعی اکس نوشت: «برای موش‌های درون لوله فاضلاب خیلی سخت است که بفهمند در دنیای بیرون چه می‌گذرد. ​​کمی نور برای رهبران ایران که واقعاً در تاریکی نشسته‌اند:

۱. ایالات متحده کنترل کامل تنگه هرمز را در دست دارد.

۲. [در ایران] کمبود ارز خارجی، یعنی دلار آمریکا، وجود دارد.

۳. [در ایران] جیره‌بندی غذا و بنزین برقرار است.

۴. کل جامعه بین‌المللی علیه ایران شده است.

۵. تا زمانی که آزادی دریانوردی مانند قبل از ۲۷ فوریه برقرار شود محاصره تنگه هرمز ادامه خواهد یافت.»

وزارت دارایی آمریکا نیز امروز با صدور اطلاعیه‌ای هشدار داد که هر فرد یا شرکتی، چه آمریکایی و چه خارجی، که برای عبور از تنگه هرمز به ایران «عوارض» بپردازد، در معرض خطر نقض تحریم‌های ایالات متحده علیه ایران قرار دارد.
