On Sunday, the price of the dollar in the free market of Iran set a new record, surpassing 188,000 tomans.

Websites that track the unofficial dollar rate in Iran displayed the price of this currency at up to 188,400 tomans. This figure then slightly decreased and hovered around 188,000 tomans.

The selling rate of the euro, the currency of the Eurozone, also crossed the 220,000 tomans mark on the same day.

In response to the recent increase in currency prices, the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic issued a statement saying that "panic buying" could pose "serious risks of loss for buyers." The statement promised that the Central Bank would take action "in due time" using its available tools.

قیمت دلار روز یکشنبه در بازار آزاد ایران با ثبت رکوردی جدید از مرز ۱۸۸ هزار تومان گذشت.

وب‌سایت‌هایی که نرخ غیررسمی دلار را در ایران ثبت می‌کنند، قیمت این ارز را تا ۱۸۸ هزار و ۴۰۰ تومان نیز به نمایش گذاشتند. این رقم سپس کمی پایین آمد و در آستانه ۱۸۸ هزار تومان قرار گرفت.

نرخ فروش یورو، واحد پول متحد اروپا، نیز در همین روز از مرز ۲۲۰ هزار تومان عبور کرد.

در واکنش به افزایش قیمت ارز در روزهای اخیر، بانک مرکزی جمهوری اسلامی با انتشار اطلاعیه‌ای گفت که «خریدهای هیجانی» می‌تواند «ریسک جدی ضرر و زیان برای خریداران ایجاد کند.»
در این اطلاعیه وعده داده شده که بانک مرکزی «در زمان مقتضی» از ابزارهای در اختیار خود اقدام خواهد کرد.
