The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, announced that American forces will begin supporting the "Freedom Project" from Monday morning, Middle Eastern time, with the aim of restoring freedom of navigation for commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
This statement, published on the social media platform X, emphasizes that the mentioned mission is carried out at the direction of the President and will support ships seeking to pass freely through this strategic passage.

CENTCOM highlighted the economic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that about a quarter of the world's maritime oil trade and a significant volume of fuel and fertilizers pass through this route. Brigadier General Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, stated that supporting this defensive mission is essential for regional security and the global economy, while a maritime blockade will also continue.

According to this statement, the U.S. Department of State, in collaboration with the Department of Defense, has initiated a plan to enhance coordination and information sharing with international partners in the field of maritime security. The military support for this plan will include missile-equipped destroyers, over 100 ground and aerial aircraft, unmanned systems, and approximately 15,000 military personnel.

فرماندهی مرکزی ایالات متحده، سنتکام، اعلام کرد نیروهای آمریکایی از صبح دوشنبه به وقت خاورمیانه حمایت از «پروژه آزادی» را با هدف بازگرداندن آزادی ناوبری کشتی‌های تجاری در تنگه هرمز آغاز می‌کنند.
این بیانیه که در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس منتشر شد، تاکید دارد مأموریت یادشده به دستور رییس‌جمهوری انجام می‌شود و از کشتی‌هایی که در پی عبور آزادانه از این گذرگاه راهبردی هستند، پشتیبانی خواهد کرد.

سنتکام با اشاره به اهمیت اقتصادی تنگه هرمز اعلام کرد حدود یک‌چهارم تجارت دریایی نفت جهان و حجم قابل‌توجهی از سوخت و کود از این مسیر عبور می‌کند. برد کوپر، فرمانده سنتکام، گفت حمایت از این مأموریت دفاعی برای امنیت منطقه‌ای و اقتصاد جهانی ضروری است و هم‌زمان محاصره دریایی نیز ادامه خواهد داشت.

بر اساس این بیانیه، وزارت خارجه آمریکا با همکاری وزارت دفاع ابتکاری را برای افزایش هماهنگی و تبادل اطلاعات با شرکای بین‌المللی در حوزه امنیت دریایی آغاز کرده است. پشتیبانی نظامی این طرح شامل ناوشکن‌های مجهز به موشک هدایت‌شونده، بیش از ۱۰۰ هواپیمای زمینی و دریایی، سامانه‌های بدون سرنشین و حدود ۱۵ هزار نیروی نظامی خواهد بود.
