The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that it has received a report of a maritime incident occurring 67 kilometers north of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the report, a cargo ship has reported a fire in its engine room, and the cause of this fire is currently unknown.

No further details have been released regarding the extent of the damage or the condition of the crew on board, but previously, South Korea had reported a similar incident involving one of its ships near the UAE.

Seoul reported an "explosion and fire" on a South Korean ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry stated that around 8:40 PM Seoul time, "an explosion and fire occurred on a ship managed by a South Korean company that was anchored in waters near the United Arab Emirates in the Strait of Hormuz."

According to a statement from the ministry reported by AFP, "so far, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries" among the 24 crew members on board the ship.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry added that "the cause of the explosion and fire and the extent of the damage are under investigation."

The ship, identified as HHM Namo, is approximately 180 meters long and flies the Panama flag, according to the maritime information database "MarineTraffic."

سازمان «عملیات تجارت دریایی بریتانیا» (UKMTO) اعلام کرد گزارشی از وقوع یک حادثه دریایی در فاصله ۶۷ کیلومتری شمال دبی در امارات متحده عربی دریافت کرده است.

بر اساس این گزارش، یک کشتی باری وقوع آتش‌سوزی در موتورخانه خود را اعلام کرده و گفته شده علت این آتش‌سوزی در حال حاضر نامشخص است.

جزئیات بیشتری درباره میزان خسارت یا وضعیت خدمه این کشتی منتشر نشده اما پیشتر کره‌جنوبی از بروز حادثه‌ای مشابه برای کشتی این کشور در نزدیکی امارات خبر داده بود.

وزارت خارجه کره جنوبی گفت که حدود ۸:۴۰ شب به وقت سئول، «در یک کشتی تحت مدیریت یک شرکت کره جنوبی که در آب‌های نزدیک امارات متحده عربی در تنگه هرمز لنگر انداخته بود، انفجار و آتش‌سوزی رخ داد.»

به گزارش خبرگزاری فرانسه در بیانیه این وزارتخانه آمده است، «تا این لحظه هیچ کشته یا مصدومی» در میان ۲۴ خدمه این کشتی گزارش نشده است.

وزارت خارجه کره جنوبی افزود که «دلیل انفجار و آتش‌سوزی و میزان خسارت ایجاد شده تحت بررسی قرار دارد.»

این کشتی که نامش اچ‌اچ‌ام نامو اعلام شده است، بر اساس پایگاه اطلاعات دریایی «مارین ترافیک» حدود ۱۸۰ متر طول و پرچم پاناما را دارد.
