Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced on Monday in an interview with Fox News that if Iran attacks American vessels operating under the "Operation Freedom of the Strait of Hormuz," the country "will be obliterated from the face of the earth."
Trump also told Fox that Iran has become "much more flexible" in peace negotiations.
He emphasized the continued strengthening of the U.S. military presence in the region, stating: "We have more weapons and ammunition of much higher quality than before. We have the best equipment at our disposal. We have facilities and bases around the world, all filled with equipment. We can use all of them, and if necessary, we will."
These remarks come amid escalating military conflicts in the Persian Gulf following the announcement of a ceasefire between the two countries.

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری ایالات متحده، روز دوشنبه در گفتگو با شبکه خبری فاکس اعلام کرد در صورت حمله ایران به شناورهای آمریکایی که در چارچوب «عملیات آزادی تنگه هرمز» فعالیت می‌کنند، این کشور «از روی زمین محو خواهد شد».
ترامپ در عین حال به فاکس گفت ایران در مذاکرات صلح «بسیار انعطاف‌پذیرتر» شده است.
او همچنین بر ادامه تقویت حضور نظامی آمریکا در منطقه تاکید کرد و گفت: «ما سلاح‌ها و مهمات بیشتری با کیفیتی بسیار بالاتر از قبل داریم. بهترین تجهیزات را در اختیار داریم. در سراسر جهان امکانات و پایگاه‌هایی داریم که همگی با تجهیزات پر شده‌اند. می‌توانیم از همه آن‌ها استفاده کنیم و اگر لازم باشد، این کار را خواهیم کرد.»
این اظهارات در اوج درگیری‌های نظامی در خلیج فارس پس از اعلام آتش‌بس میان دو کشور مطرح می‌شود.
