Marco Rubio announced that Washington is trying to determine what topics the Islamic Republic is willing to negotiate on and emphasized that the initial agreement does not necessarily need to have complete details.

He told reporters, "The text of the agreement does not need to be written from the beginning, but there must be a diplomatic solution that clearly outlines the negotiable topics and the extent of the concessions that Iran is initially willing to offer."

Rubio continued with skepticism regarding Tehran's stance on the nuclear program, stating that Iran "has always said it does not want nuclear weapons, but it does not take this seriously," and emphasized that actions such as developing long-range missiles and creating underground enrichment facilities are inconsistent with such claims.

The U.S. Secretary of State also added that Iran now has the opportunity to "clearly" demonstrate that it is not seeking nuclear weapons.

مارکو روبیو اعلام کرد واشنگتن در تلاش است مشخص کند جمهوری اسلامی بر سر چه موضوعاتی حاضر به مذاکره است و تاکید کرد توافق اولیه لزوما نیازمند جزئیات کامل نخواهد بود.

او به خبرنگاران گفت: «لازم نیست متن توافق از ابتدا نوشته شده باشد، اما باید یک راه‌حل دیپلماتیک وجود داشته باشد که به‌طور شفاف موضوعات قابل مذاکره و میزان امتیازاتی را که ایران در آغاز حاضر به ارائه آن است، مشخص کند.»

روبیو در ادامه با تردید نسبت به موضع تهران درباره برنامه هسته‌ای گفت ایران «همیشه گفته سلاح هسته‌ای نمی‌خواهد، اما این را جدی نمی‌گوید» و تاکید کرد اقداماتی مانند توسعه موشک‌های دوربرد و ایجاد تاسیسات زیرزمینی غنی‌سازی با چنین ادعایی همخوانی ندارد.

وزیر خارجه آمریکا در عین حال افزود ایران اکنون این فرصت را دارد که «به‌طور شفاف» نشان دهد به دنبال سلاح هسته‌ای نیست.
