Simultaneously with the efforts of the United States and Bahrain to advance a resolution in the Security Council regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the freedom of navigation, Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, described this resolution as "one-sided and provocative" and the narratives contained within it as "selective and biased."

In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the leaders of member countries, Araqchi attributed the current restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz to the "aggressive, unjust, and illegal war" by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic, warning the international community that they should not allow the Security Council to be "exploited by aggressors."

He emphasized in this letter that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will only return to "normal" if there is a "permanent cessation of war and the lifting of illegal blockades and sanctions" against the Islamic Republic.

همزمان با تلاش‌های ایالات متحده و بحرین برای پیشبرد قطعنامه‌ای در شورای امنیت درباره بازگشایی تنگه هرمز و آزادی کشتیرانی، عباس عراقچی، وزیر امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی، این قطعنامه را «یک‌سویه و تحریک‌آمیز» و روایت‌های مندرج در آن را «گزینشی و جانبدارانه» خواند.

عراقچی در نامه‌ای به دبیرکل سازمان ملل و رهبران کشورهای عضو، محدودیت‌های کنونی در تنگه هرمز را ناشی از «جنگ تجاوزکارانه، غیرموجه و غیرقانونی» آمریکا و اسرائیل علیه جمهوری اسلامی خواند و به جامعه جهانی هشدار داد که نباید اجازه دهند شورای امنیت به گفته او مورد «سوءاستفاده متجاوزان» قرار گیرد.

او در این نامه تاکید می‌کند که تردد در تنگه هرمز تنها در صورت «توقف دائمی جنگ و رفع محاصره و تحریم‌های غیرقانونی» علیه جمهوری اسلامی به حالت «عادی» بازخواهد گشت.
