CNN reported that Tehran is still reviewing the messages sent by the U.S. through Pakistani intermediaries. In response to a question about whether Iran has responded to what has been described as a "one-page proposal," Trump rejected that description. He told reporters, "Well, this is more than a one-page proposal. This was a proposal that essentially said they will not have nuclear weapons, they will deliver nuclear dust to us, and many other things that we want." When asked if Iran agreed to these terms, Trump said, "They have agreed. But when they agree, it doesn't mean much because the next day they forget that they agreed." He added, "And you know, we are dealing with different sets of leaders."

او گفت: «امروز سه ناوشکن درجه‌یک آمریکا از تنگه عبور کردند. هر کشور دیگری در چنین شرایطی چنین کاری نمی‌کرد. به آن‌ ناوشکن‌ها موشک و پهپاد شلیک کردند و این قایق‌های احمقانه را به سویشان فرستادند. آن‌ها ظرف حدود دو دقیقه نابود شدند. نفتکششان هدف قرار گرفت. می‌دانید با نفتکش چه کردیم؟ نمی‌خواستیم شرایط حادی ایجاد شود، بنابراین سکان آن را زدیم و نفتکش شروع کرد به چرخیدن دور خودش. نباید امروز این کار را می‌کردند.»
ترامپ افزود: «همه موشک‌هایشان سرنگون شد. همه پهپادهایشان سرنگون شد و کسانی که آن‌ها را شلیک کردند نیز دیگر در میان ما نیستند.»

ترامپ در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره اینکه آیا ایران به آنچه «پیشنهاد یک‌صفحه‌ای» توصیف شده پاسخ داده است یا نه، این توصیف را رد کرد.
او به خبرنگاران گفت: «خب، این بیشتر از یک پیشنهاد یک‌صفحه‌ای است. این پیشنهادی بود که اساسا می‌گفت آنها سلاح هسته‌ای نخواهند داشت، گردوغبار هسته‌ای را به ما تحویل خواهند داد و بسیاری چیزهای دیگری را که ما می‌خواهیم.»
وقتی از او پرسیده شد آیا ایران با این شروط موافقت کرده است، ترامپ گفت: «آنها موافقت کرده‌اند. اما وقتی موافقت می‌کنند، خیلی معنا ندارد، چون روز بعد فراموش می‌کنند که موافقت کرده بودند.»
او افزود: «و می‌دانید، ما با مجموعه‌های متفاوتی از رهبران طرف هستیم.»
