Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, said on Saturday, May 8, shortly after the "Victory Day" parade in Moscow, that he believes the war in Ukraine is coming to an end.

Without providing further details about the war, he told reporters: "I think this issue is coming to an end."

The Financial Times reported on Thursday that European Union leaders are preparing for possible negotiations. When asked if he is willing to engage in dialogue with Europeans, Putin stated that his preferred option is Gerhard Schröder, the former Chancellor of Germany.
