According to the "Wall Street Journal," Israel has taken an unprecedented step by establishing a secret military base in the deserts of Iraq to support its extensive air operations against Iran.

This base, which was built before the onset of hostilities and with the knowledge of the United States, hosts Israeli special forces and rescue units for pilots who might be shot down during the attacks. According to informed officials, the deployment of this logistics center, located 1,600 kilometers from Israel, has played a key role in managing thousands of airstrikes by Tel Aviv against military targets of the Islamic Republic within Iran in recent weeks.

The report reveals that the hideout nearly got exposed in early March after a local shepherd reported suspicious helicopter movements. Following this report, the Iraqi army dispatched forces to inspect the area, but Israeli forces prevented them from accessing the secret site by carrying out heavy airstrikes against Iraqi soldiers, resulting in the death of one Iraqi soldier and injuries to two others.

به گزارش «وال‌استریت ژورنال»، اسرائیل در اقدامی بی‌سابقه یک پایگاه نظامی مخفی در بیابان‌های عراق ایجاد کرده است تا از این طریق عملیات هوایی گسترده خود علیه ایران را پشتیبانی کند.

این پایگاه که پیش از آغاز درگیری‌ها و با آگاهی ایالات متحده احداث شده، میزبان نیروهای ویژه اسرائیل و یگان‌های امداد و نجات برای خلبانانی بود که ممکن بود در جریان حملات سرنگون شوند.
طبق گفته مقام‌های آگاه، استقرار این مرکز لجستیک در فاصله ۱۶۰۰ کیلومتری از اسرائیل، نقش کلیدی در مدیریت هزاران حمله هوایی تل‌آویو علیه اهداف نظامی رژیم جمهوری اسلامی در خاک ایران طی هفته‌های اخیر ایفا کرده است.

این گزارش فاش می‌کند که مخفیگاه مذکور در اوایل ماه مارس و پس از گزارش یک چوپان محلی درباره تحرکات مشکوک هلیکوپترها، تا آستانه لو رفتن پیش رفت. در پی این گزارش، ارتش عراق نیروهایی را برای بازرسی به منطقه اعزام کرد، اما نیروهای اسرائیلی با اجرای حملات هوایی سنگین علیه سربازان عراقی، مانع از دسترسی آن‌ها به این سایت سری شدند که در نتیجه آن یک سرباز عراقی کشته و دو نفر مجروح شدند.
