Iranian media reported on Sunday, citing the CEO of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, that any oil pollution resulting from the facilities on Khark Island has been denied.
He stated: "As soon as this news was published, specialized HSE teams and the chemical and laboratory department monitored the entire area, but not even the smallest case was found."
Reuters reported that satellite images captured between May 6 and 8 show a large stain in the waters surrounding Khark Island, Iran's most important oil export terminal, which experts say is consistent with "oil leakage."
According to the report, a gray and white stain has been observed to the west of Khark Island, covering an area of about 45 square kilometers, according to a researcher from the "Conflict and Environment Observatory."
Abbas Asadrooz stated, "According to the International 'MIMAC' Center, representing the International Maritime Organization, there is no leakage in the infrastructure, storage tanks, measurement systems, docks, pipelines in this area, or in the ships being loaded."
Asadrooz did not clarify what the stain in the images indicates.

او گفت: «به محض انتشار این اخبار، گروههای متخصص اچاسئی و اداره شیمیایی و آزمایشگاه، همه منطقه را پایش کردند اما حتی کوچکترین موردی یافت نشد.»
خبرگزاری رویترز گزارش داده بود که تصاویر ماهوارهای ثبتشده در روزهای ۱۶ تا ۱۸ اردیبهشت، لکهای بزرگ را در آبهای اطراف جزیره خارک، مهمترین پایانه صادرات نفت ایران، نشان میدهد که به گفته کارشناسان با «نشت نفت» سازگار است.
بر اساس این گزارش، لکهای خاکستری و سفیدرنگ در غرب جزیره خارک دیده شده که به گفته یک پژوهشگر «رصدخانه منازعه و محیط زیست»، مساحتی حدود ۴۵ کیلومتر مربع را پوشش میدهد.
به گفته عباس اسدروز، «طبق اعلام مرکز بینالمللی «میمک» به نمایندگی از سازمان بینالمللی دریانوردی هیچگونه نشتی در زیرساختها، مخازن ذخیرهسازی، سیستمهای اندازهگیری، اسکلهها، خطوط لوله این منطقه و کشتیهای در حال بارگیری وجود ندارد.»
اسدروز توضیح نداده است که لکه موجود در تصاویر نشاندهنده چه چیزی است.
