Axios reported that Donald Trump will hold a meeting on Monday, May 10, 2026, with members of his national security team regarding the continuation of the war with Iran and the possibility of resuming military action against the Islamic Republic.
According to the report, three American officials stated that negotiations between Tehran and Washington reached a deadlock on Sunday, which has put military options back on the table.
Axios, citing American officials, wrote that Trump still seeks an agreement to end the war, but Iran's rejection of many of the U.S. demands and Tehran's refusal to make serious concessions regarding its nuclear program have increased the likelihood of military action.
