According to the American publication The Wall Street Journal, the United Arab Emirates has secretly conducted military attacks against Iran; a matter that, according to sources familiar with the publication, could position the UAE as one of the active parties in the conflict with Iran.

Sources close to The Wall Street Journal have stated that the attacks that the UAE has not publicly confirmed so far include an assault on a refinery on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf.

In early April, coinciding with the announcement of a ceasefire by Donald Trump, several airstrikes targeted Iranian oil facilities in the country's islands and what are referred to as the continental shelf areas of the National Iranian Oil Company, resulting in widespread fires and the shutdown of a significant portion of the Lavan refinery for several months.

At that time, Iran announced that this refinery was targeted in a "hostile attack" and, in response, launched a wave of missile and drone attacks against the UAE and Kuwait.

به گزارش نشریه آمریکایی وال استریت ژورنال، امارات متحده عربی به‌طور مخفیانه حملات نظامی علیه ایران انجام داده است؛ موضوعی که به گفته منابع آگاه به این نشریه، می تواند امارات را به یکی از طرف‌های فعال مخاصمه با ایران مطرح کند.

منابع آگاه به وال استریت ژورنال گفته‌اند حملاتی که امارات تاکنون به‌صورت علنی تایید نکرده، شامل حمله به یک پالایشگاه در جزیره لاوان در خلیج فارس بوده است.

در اوایل آوریل گذشته و هم‌زمان با اعلام آتش‌بس از سوی دونالد ترامپ چند حمله هوایی به تاسیسات نفتی ایران در جزایر این کشور و اصطلاحا مناطق فلات قاره شرکت ملی نفت ایران صورت گرفت که باعث آتش‌سوزی گسترده و خروج بخش بزرگی از ظرفیت پالایشگاه لاوان از مدار برای چندین ماه شد.

ایران در آن زمان اعلام کرده بود این پالایشگاه در یک «حمله دشمن» هدف قرار گرفته و در پاسخ، موجی از حملات موشکی و پهپادی علیه امارات و کویت انجام داده است.
