Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, appointed Mohammad Reza Aref, his First Vice President, as the head of the "Special Headquarters for Organizing and Managing the Country's Cyber Space."

In Mr. Pezeshkian's decree, there is an emphasis on "integrated governance" in cyberspace, ending "multivocality," and preventing "overlapping responsibilities" among the responsible institutions.

This appointment comes as today marks the seventy-fifth day of widespread internet disruptions and restrictions in Iran.

The Iranian government cut off access to international internet on March 9 (February 28) coinciding with attacks from Israel and the United States, and phone calls to outside Iran are also facing serious disruptions.

مسعود پزشکیان، رئیس‌جمهور ایران، محمدرضا عارف، معاون اول خود، را به ریاست «ستاد ویژه ساماندهی و راهبری فضای مجازی کشور» منصوب کرد.

در حکم آقای پزشکیان بر «حکمرانی یکپارچه» در فضای مجازی، پایان دادن به «چندصدایی» و جلوگیری از «موازی‌کاری» میان نهادهای مسئول تأکید شده است.

این انتصاب در حالی انجام می‌شود که امروز هفتاد و پنجمین روز اختلال و محدودیت گسترده اینترنت در ایران است.

حکومت ایران از ۹ اسفند (۲۸ فوریه) و همزمان با حملات اسرائیل و آمریکا، دسترسی به اینترنت بین‌الملل را قطع کرد و تماس‌ تلفنی با خارج از ایران هم با اختلال جدی رو‌به‌رو است.
