JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, announced that Washington believes there has been "progress" in negotiations with Iran, but it is still unclear whether this progress is sufficient to cross Donald Trump's red line.

Mr. Vance told reporters at the White House on Wednesday that he had discussed Iran that morning with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and had also been in contact with Arab officials. He added, "The main question is whether this progress is enough to meet the President's red line or not."

According to the U.S. Vice President, Trump's red line is that the United States must ensure "sufficient mechanisms" are in place so that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. Vance's remarks come as Trump had previously described Iran's new proposal in negotiations as "unacceptable."

آقای ونس روز چهارشنبه در کاخ سفید به خبرنگاران گفت صبح همان روز با جرد کوشنر و استیو ویتکاف درباره ایران گفت‌وگو کرده و همچنین با مقام‌های عرب در تماس بوده است. او افزود: «سوال اصلی این است که آیا این پیشرفت به اندازه‌ای هست که خط قرمز رئیس‌جمهور را تأمین کند یا نه.»

به گفته معاون رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، خط قرمز ترامپ این است که ایالات متحده مطمئن شود «سازوکارهای کافی» ایجاد شده تا ایران هرگز به سلاح هسته‌ای دست پیدا نکند.
اظهارات ونس در حالی مطرح می‌شود که ترامپ پیش‌تر پیشنهاد تازه ایران در مذاکرات را «غیرقابل قبول» توصیف کرده بود.
