The Chancellor of Germany stated that during a phone conversation with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, both agreed on the necessity for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz and to prevent Tehran from accessing nuclear weapons.

Friedrich Merz wrote on X on Friday, May 25, that he had a "good phone call" with the U.S. President on his way back from China.

He added that they agree that "Iran must come to the negotiating table right now. It must open the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons."

صدراعظم آلمان می‌گوید در جریان گفت‌و‌گوی تلفنی با دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، هر دو بر سر ضرورت باز کردن تنگهٔ هرمز توسط ایران و ممانعت از دسترسی تهران به سلاح هسته‌ای، توافق داشته‌اند.

فریدریش مرتس روز جمعه ۲۵ اردیبهشت در شبکهٔ ایکس نوشت که در مسیر بازگشت رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا از چین، «تماس تلفنی خوبی» با او داشته است.

او افزود که آن‌ها توافق دارند که «ایران باید همین حالا پای میز مذاکره بیاید. باید تنگهٔ هرمز را باز کند. نباید اجازه داده شود تهران به سلاح هسته‌ای دست پیدا کند».
