Axios reported exclusively that Donald Trump, in a long and "difficult" phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu, informed him about the mediators' efforts to draft a "memorandum of understanding." According to this plan, the United States and the Islamic Republic would officially end the war by signing this memorandum and initiate a 30-day period for negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to two sources from Axios, this proposal has faced strong opposition from the Israeli Prime Minister, and the two leaders have serious disagreements about the way forward. An American official described Netanyahu's state after this call as "very angry and upset."

Axios reported that the Israeli ambassador in Washington also conveyed Netanyahu's serious concerns about this conversation to American lawmakers, although a spokesperson for the embassy denied this. One source, referring to Netanyahu's persistent skepticism about the negotiation process, said, "Bibi is always worried." The White House and the Israeli Prime Minister's Office have declined to comment on this matter.

آکسیوس در گزارشی اختصاصی اعلام کرد دونالد ترامپ در تماس تلفنی طولانی و «دشوار» خود با بنیامین نتانیاهو، از تلاش میانجی‌ها برای تدوین یک «تفاهم‌نامه» خبر داده است. بر اساس این طرح، آمریکا و جمهوری اسلامی با امضای این تفاهم‌نامه رسما به جنگ پایان داده و یک دوره ۳۰ روزه را برای مذاکره درباره برنامه هسته‌ای ایران و بازگشایی تنگه هرمز آغاز می‌کنند.

به گفته دو نفر از منابع آکسیوس، این پیشنهاد با مخالفت شدید نخست‌وزیر اسرائیل مواجه شده و دو رهبر درباره مسیر پیش‌رو اختلاف‌نظر جدی دارند. یک مقام آمریکایی وضعیت نتانیاهو را پس از این تماس، «بسیار خشمگین و آشفته» توصیف کرد.

آکسیوس به نقل از منابع خود نوشت سفیر اسرائیل در واشنگتن نیز نگرانی شدید نتانیاهو از این گفتگو را به اطلاع قانون‌گذاران آمریکایی رسانده است؛ هرچند سخنگوی سفارت این موضوع را تکذیب کرد. یکی از منابع با اشاره به بدبینی همیشگی نتانیاهو به روند گفتگوها گفت: «بی‌بی همیشه نگران است.» کاخ سفید و دفتر نخست‌وزیری اسرائیل از اظهارنظر در این باره خودداری کرده‌اند.
