The investigative media FTM in the Netherlands reported in a report that Thomas Erdbrink, a Dutch journalist for the New York Times and NOS network in Iran, was simultaneously an advisor for the Heineken brewery in Iran, receiving up to 5,000 euros per month for this work for a year. Erdbrink has denied receiving the payment.
According to this report, this journalist regularly carried out side projects for the brewery in Iran, not only guiding expatriate employees and visitors in Tehran but also connecting the brewery with local lawyers and consultants.

رسانه تحقیقی FTM هلند در گزارشی نوشته که توماس اردبرینک، خبرنگار هلندی نیویورکتایمز و شبکه NOS در ایران، همزمان مشاور شرکت آبجوسازی هینکن هم در ایران بوده و برای این کار ماهانه تا یکسال ۵ هزار یورو دریافت میکرد. اردبرینک دریافت مبلغ را انکار کرده.
طبق این گزارش این روزنامهنگار به طور منظم کارهای جانبی (پروژهای) برای این شرکت آبجوسازی در ایران انجام میداده است و نه تنها کارمندان اعزامی و بازدیدکنندگان را در تهران میگردانده، بلکه گفته این شرکت آبجوسازی را با وکلا و مشاوران محلی نیز مرتبط کرده است.
