The documentary film "Exercises for a Revolution," directed by Pegah Ahangarani, won the "Golden Eye" award at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
The "Golden Eye" is the most prestigious award in the documentary section of the Cannes Film Festival. Pegah Ahangarani dedicated her award to the people of Iran and stated: "(The people of Iran) have never given up on their struggle for their rights, their freedom, and their dreams despite all the repression they have endured over the years, and I am sure they will never surrender. I am certain, and I have a wish that I want to express here: that one day my little daughter Lily and all the children of Iran will live in a free and democratic Iran in the near future."
According to Ms. Ahangarani, she has revisited over 40 years of Iranian history using personal archives, home videos, images of street protests, newspapers, and recorded voices.

«لوئی دور» یا چشم طلایی، مهمترین جایزه بخش مستند جشنواره فیلم کن است.
پگاه آهنگرانی جایزهاش را به مردم ایران تقدیم کرد و گفت: «(مردم ایران) با وجود تمام سرکوبهایی که در طول این سالها تحمل کردهاند، هرگز از تلاش برای حقوقشان، آزادیشان و آرزوهایشان دست نکشیدهاند و مطمئنم که آنها هرگز تسلیم نخواهند شد. مطمئنم و یک آرزو دارم که میخواهم اینجا بگویم: اینکه روزی دختر کوچکم لیلی و همه بچههای ایران در آیندهای نزدیک در ایرانی آزاد و دموکراتیک زندگی کنند.»
به گفته خانم آهنگرانی او با استفاده از آرشیوهای شخصی، ویدئوهای خانگی، تصاویر اعتراضات خیابانی، روزنامهها و صداهای ضبط شده، بیش از ۴۰ سال از تاریخ ایران را بازخوانی کرده است.
