On Saturday evening, a shooting occurred near the White House in which two people, including a bystander and the suspect, were shot.

The United States Secret Service reported that shortly after 6 PM on Saturday, an individual pulled a weapon from their bag and began firing in the vicinity of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue (northwest).

The Secret Service added that the Secret Service police responded to the shooting and fired at the suspect.

According to the Secret Service, the suspect was transported to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead there.

The agency stated that during the shooting, a bystander was also struck by gunfire, and none of the officers were injured.

The Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting the President of the United States, noted that Donald Trump was present at the White House at the time of the incident.

American media identified the shooter from Saturday evening's incident near the White House as "Nasir Bast," a 21-year-old from Maryland, who was known to security officials as someone with severe psychological and emotional disorders.

According to reports, this individual had previously blocked an entrance to the White House in June 2025, claiming to be "God," and was subsequently transferred to a psychiatric facility. Due to another attempt to enter the White House grounds in July of the same year, he had a court order prohibiting him from entering or approaching the building.

Further reports indicate that "Nasir Bast" had expressed his desire to harm Donald Trump in at least one social media post; he ultimately violated the court order, approached the checkpoint at 17th and Pennsylvania Streets, and opened fire on officers, resulting in a return fire exchange with Secret Service forces, where he was hit and later died in the hospital.

شنبه عصر، یک تیراندازی در حوالی کاخ سفید خبر روی داد که طی آن دو نفر از جمله یک عابر و فرد مظنون تیر خوردند.

سرویس مخفی ایالات متحده، در گزارشی اعلام کرد که اندکی پس از ساعت ۶ عصر روز شنبه، فردی در محدوده خیابان ۱۷ و خیابان پنسیلوانیا، (شمال غربی) سلاحی را از کیف خود خارج کرد و شروع به تیراندازی کرد.

سرویس مخفی ایالات متحده افزود پلیس سرویس مخفی به تیرانازی او پاسخ داد و به مظنون شلیک کرد.

به گفته سرویس مخفی،‌مظنون به یک بیمارستان محلی منتقل شد، اما در آنجا اعلام شد که جان باخته است.

به گفته این نهاد امنیی، در جریان این تیراندازی، یک عابر نیز مورد اصابت گلوله قرار گرفت و هیچ‌یک از مأموران آسیب ندیدند.

بر اساس گزارش‌ها، این فرد که پیش از این در ژوئن ۲۰۲۵ با ادعای این‌که «خدا» است یک مسیر ورودی کاخ سفید را مسدود کرده و پس از آن به یک مرکز روان‌پزشکی منتقل شده بود، به دلیل تلاش مجدد برای ورود به حریم کاخ سفید در ژوئیه همان سال، حکم دادگاه مبنی بر «ممنوعیت ورود و نزدیکی به این عمارت» را داشته است.
