Axios reported on Sunday, May 24, citing a senior official in Donald Trump's administration, that "a few minor unresolved details" remain between Tehran and Washington, and for this reason, the agreement between Iran and the U.S. is unlikely to be signed today.

This U.S. official told Axios that there are still some areas of "back-and-forth" in the agreement, and the disagreements mainly revolve around phrases that are important to each side: "Some words are important to us, and some words are important to them."

Axios quoted this senior White House official as saying that the decision-making structure in the Islamic Republic "does not act quickly," and the process of obtaining all necessary approvals will take several days.

According to this official, Washington's assessment is that "Mohammad Javad Zarif," the leader of the Islamic Republic, has approved the overall framework of the agreement, but whether this process will lead to a final agreement is "still an open question."

رسانه آکسیوس، روز یکشنبه سوم خرداد ماه، به نقل از یک مقام ارشد دولت دونالد ترامپ گزارش داد، «چند مورد جزئیات حل‌نشده» میان تهران و واشنگتن باقی‌مانده است و به همین دلیل توافق میان ایران و آمریکا احتمالا امروز امضا نخواهد شد.

این مقام آمریکایی به آکسیوس گفت هنوز بر سر برخی بخش‌های توافق «رفت‌وبرگشت» وجود دارد و اختلاف‌ها بیشتر بر سر عباراتی است که برای هر یک از دو طرف اهمیت دارد: «برخی کلمات برای ما مهم هستند و برخی کلمات برای آن‌ها.»

آکسیوس به نقل از این مقام ارشد کاخ سفید نوشت، ساختار تصمیم‌گیری در جمهوری اسلامی «سریع عمل نمی‌کند» و روند دریافت همه تاییدیه‌های لازم چند روز زمان خواهد برد.

به گفته این مقام، ارزیابی واشنگتن این است که «مجتبی خامنه‌ای»، رهبر جمهوری اسلامی، چارچوب کلی توافق را تایید کرده، اما اینکه این روند به توافق نهایی منجر شود، «همچنان یک سوال باز» است.
