Iranian media have reported the approval of a "new and important" resolution regarding the reconnection of the country's internet to the international internet in the "Special Headquarters for Organizing the Virtual Space"; a resolution that still requires final approval from Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, for implementation.

Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday, May 25, that the fourth meeting of this headquarters was held under the chairmanship of Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, during which "important resolutions" regarding connection to the international internet were approved.

Fars quoted a source stating that "the establishment of international internet connectivity" was approved with 9 votes in favor and 3 votes against, and has been sent to the President's office for confirmation.

Tasnim News Agency also published a similar report, stating that the resolutions from this meeting will be communicated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for implementation after final approval from the President.

Meanwhile, Sitna, a specialized media outlet in the field of communications and information technology, reported, citing "an informed source," that in the meeting on Tuesday morning, "the return of the internet to its status before December 2025" was approved, and upon Masoud Pezeshkian's confirmation, it will be communicated to the Ministry of Communications for implementation.
