The news agency Mizan, affiliated with the judiciary, announced that Gholamreza Khani-Shakarab has been executed on charges of "intelligence cooperation and espionage in favor of Israel." Mizan claims he was the "operational network leader of Mossad" and was executed after the verdict was confirmed by the Supreme Court.

In the judiciary's account, serious accusations have been attributed to him, including recruiting individuals for sabotage operations, receiving cash and cryptocurrency, assaulting and throwing acid on the cars of individuals targeted by Mossad, setting public property on fire, preparing bombs and sending them to Tehran, filming target locations, and even being tasked with facilitating the assassination of a Jewish rabbi in one of the regional countries.

The main ambiguity in the case is how Khani-Shakarab was transferred to Iran. Mizan reported that he was identified abroad and was led into the country through "intelligence deception" and arrested.

خبرگزاری میزان، وابسته به قوه قضائیه، اعلام کرد غلامرضا خانی‌شکرآب به اتهام «همکاری اطلاعاتی و جاسوسی به نفع اسرائیل» اعدام شده است.
میزان مدعی شده او «سرشبکه عملیاتی موساد» بوده و پس از تأیید حکم در دیوان عالی کشور اعدام شده است.

در روایت قوه‌قضائیه، اتهام‌های سنگینی به او نسبت داده شده است؛ از جمله جذب افراد برای عملیات خرابکارانه، دریافت پول نقد و ارز دیجیتال، تعرض و اسیدپاشی به خودروهای افراد مورد نظر موساد، آتش‌زدن اموال عمومی، تهیه بمب و ارسال آن به تهران، تصویربرداری از نقاط هدف و حتی مأموریت برای فراهم‌کردن مقدمات ترور یک خاخام یهودی در یکی از کشورهای منطقه.
