Scott Basset emphasized that the U.S. continues its campaign of "economic wrath" against the Iranian government, stating on X that the Islamic Republic's forces are not receiving salaries, police are not showing up for work, and Khark Island is shut down, with Iran's economy and currency value in free fall.
He added that the Strait of Hormuz management organization is a joke by the Islamic Republic and that today the Treasury Department has sanctioned it. We have warned any corporate or governmental entity about paying fees or hiding them as aid.
Basset further noted that with the establishment of a "steel wall," the U.S. maritime blockade has caused Iran's crude oil levels at sea to reach their lowest historical point.
He stressed that only one satisfactory outcome in negotiations will stop this downward trend.

اسکات بسنت، وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا، روز پنج‌شنبه در پیامی در شبکه ایکس نوشت که ایالات متحده در راستای افزایش فشار بر تهران و باز نگه داشتن تنگه هرمز «دسترسی هر دو شرکت هواپیمایی ایرانی به اماکن فرود، سوخت‌گیری و فروش بلیت را متوقف خواهد کرد»، اما جزئیات بیشتری ارائه نداد و به نام دو شرکت اشاره نکرد.

اسکات بسنت، وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا، با تاکید بر اینکه این کشور به کارزار «خشم اقتصادی» علیه حکومت ایران ادامه می‌دهد، در شبکه ایکس نوشت نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی حقوق دریافت نمی‌کنند، پلیس‌ها سر کار حاضر نمی‌شوند و جزیره خارک تعطیل شده است و اقتصاد و ارزش پول ایران در سقوط آزاد قرار دارد.
او افزود سازمان مدیریت تنگه هرمز از سوی جمهوری اسلامی یک شوخی است و امروز وزارت خزانه‌داری آن را تحریم کرده است. ما به هر نهاد شرکتی یا دولتی درباره پرداخت عوارض یا پنهان کردن آن به‌عنوان کمک هشدار داده‌ایم.
بسنت اضافه کرد با تشکیل «دیوار فولادی»، محاصره دریایی آمریکا باعث شده میزان نفت خام ایران در دریا به پایین‌ترین سطح تاریخی برسد.
او تاکید کرد تنها یک نتیجه رضایت‌بخش در مذاکرات این روند نزولی را متوقف خواهد کرد.
