Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated in an interview with IRIB that the exchange of messages continues, but no final agreement has been reached yet. He added that the management of the Strait of Hormuz should be determined by Iran and Oman.

He reiterated, "At this stage, we are focused on ending the war, and we have no negotiations regarding the nuclear file."

These remarks come as Mr. Trump presented a list of demands that he says Iran must fulfill, which includes Iran's commitment to not acquiring nuclear weapons, opening the Strait of Hormuz without charging tolls, completely clearing mines from this waterway, and removing Iran's enriched uranium reserves in cooperation with the U.S. and under the supervision of the agency, and then destroying these materials.

Earlier, Fars News Agency, close to the Revolutionary Guards, also quoted another Iranian source describing the U.S. President's comments about a potential agreement with Iran as "a mix of truth and lies." This source stated that there is no provision in the agreement regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without charging tolls and deemed the understanding regarding the destruction of Iran's uranium reserves as "baseless."

اسماعیل بقایی، سخنگوی وزارت خارجه ایران در مصاحبه‌ای با صدا و سیما گفت که تبادل پیام‌ها ادامه دارد ولی هنوز هیچ توافقی نهایی نشده است و افزود که مدیریت تنگه هرمز باید توسط ایران و عمان تعیین شود.

او بار دیگر گفت: «در این مرحله بر خاتمه جنگ متمرکز هستیم و در مورد پرونده هسته‌ای هیچ مذاکره‌ای نداریم.»

این اظهارات در حالی از سوی ایران مطرح شده که آقای ترامپ فهرستی از خواسته‌هایی را که می‌گوید ایران باید برآورده کند، مطرح کرد که شامل تعهد ایران به عدم دستیابی به سلاح هسته‌ای، باز کردن تنگه هرمز بدون دریافت عوارض، مین‌روبی کامل این آبراه و خارج‌سازی ذخایر اورانیوم ‌غنی‌شده ایران با همکاری آمریکا و تحت نظارت آژانس و سپس از بین بردن این مواد است.

پیش‌تر: خبرگزاری فارس، نزدیک به سپاه پاسداران، نیز به نقل از یک منبع ایرانی دیگر اظهارنظر رئیس‌جمهور ایالات منحده دربارهٔ توافق احتمالی با ایران، را «آمیخته‌ای از راست و دروغ» خوانده است.
این منبع گفته که در متن توافق بندی درباره باز شدن تنگه هرمز بدون دریافت عوارض وجود ندارد و تفاهم بر سر نابودی دخایر اورانیوم ایران را نیز «بی‌اساس» دانسته است.
