The New York Times reported, citing a senior U.S. official, that Donald Trump's meeting in the White House "situation room" lasted two hours, but the U.S. president has not yet reached a final decision on any new agreement with Tehran.

The official added that the U.S. government believes it is close to reaching an agreement, but some issues, including the release of frozen assets, remain under discussion and contentious.

A senior official told the Associated Press that the meeting was examining the framework of an agreement that would extend the ceasefire for 60 days and advance negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program. The official did not comment on whether Trump made a decision to accept this preliminary agreement after the nearly two-hour meeting.

این مقام افزود دولت آمریکا معتقد است به دستیابی به توافق نزدیک شده، اما برخی مسائل از جمله آزادسازی دارایی‌های مسدودشده همچنان محل بررسی و اختلاف‌نظر است.

یک مقام ارشد به خبرگزاری آسوشیتدپرس گفت که این جلسه در حال بررسی چارچوب توافقی بود که آتش‌بس را به مدت ۶۰ روز تمدید می‌کرد و مذاکرات در مورد برنامه هسته‌ای ایران را پیش می‌برد.
این مقام رسمی در مورد اینکه آیا ترامپ پس از این جلسه تقریباً دو ساعته تصمیمی برای پذیرش این توافق اولیه گرفته است یا خیر، اظهار نظری نکرد.
