The Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, reported the execution of Fathollah Avari, accused of murdering Mohammad Javad Bakhshian, a member of the police forces during the protests in January 2025 in Hamadan.

Mizan News claims that at the time of his arrest, a "murder weapon (knife), a black hoodie, and also the same white sneakers seen in the surveillance footage of the incident" were discovered.

Mizan News alleged that Mr. "Avari" has a history of offenses including "kidnapping," "intentional assault," "threatening with a knife," and "participating in aggravated robbery."

However, the Mehr News Agency, on January 18, 2025, when reporting his arrest in western Tehran, described him as "having a criminal and security record."

خبرگزاری میزان وابسته به دستگاه قضایی جمهوری اسلامی، از اجرای حکم اعدام فتح‌الله آوری، به اتهام قتل محمدجواد بخشیان، از نیروهای انتظامی در جریان اعتراضات دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ در همدان خبر داد.

خبرگزاری میزان مدعی است که در زمان دستگیری، «آلت قتاله (چاقو)، هودی مشکی و همچنین همان کتانی سفیدرنگی که در تصاویر دوربین‌های مداربسته محل حادثه مشاهده شده بود»، کشف شده است.

خبرگزاری میزان مدعی شد که آقای «آوری» دارای سوابقی چون «آدم‌ربایی»، «ضرب و جرح عمدی»، «تهدید با چاقو» و «شرکت در سرقت مقرون به آزار» بوده است.

اما خبرگزاری مهر در ۲۹ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ و زمانی که خبر از دستگیری وی در غرب تهران داد،‌ او را «دارای سوابق کیفری و امنیتی» معرفی کرده بود.
