The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday, June 3, that one person was killed in Iran's drone attack on "civilian facilities" in the country, including Kuwait International Airport and several diplomatic missions.

The country's Ministry of Health also reported that at least 63 people were injured in this attack.

In a statement released hours after initial reports of the attack, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry did not specify which diplomatic missions were affected.

Shortly after, the country's Ministry of Defense announced that it had identified 30 ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran on Wednesday.

Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, a spokesperson for the ministry, said: "Since early this morning, the armed forces have identified and engaged 13 hostile ballistic missiles in Kuwaiti airspace. These missiles were intercepted over several residential areas, resulting in some of their debris falling." He reported that the Kuwaiti armed forces identified and countered 17 hostile drones, adding: "This heinous aggression by Iran targeted civilian and vital facilities."

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that one of its citizens was killed at Kuwait Airport and condemned the attack. The ministry stated: "We once again urge all parties to put an end to such attacks against civilian targets."

Earlier, the Kuwaiti state news agency reported that the attack on the country's international airport early Wednesday left several injured, suspended airport operations, and redirected some flights to other airports. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait also announced that Terminal 1 of the airport was "severely damaged" in this attack. Kuwait Airways also announced that it would reschedule its flights on Wednesday. However, the country's Civil Aviation Authority later reported that after assessing the damages and implementing safety measures, Kuwait Airways flights had resumed from Terminal 4.
