The Secretary-General of Hezbollah rejected the ceasefire plan that the governments of Lebanon and Israel had agreed upon in negotiations mediated by the United States.

On Wednesday, the United States announced that Lebanon and Israel had reached an agreement on implementing a ceasefire; an agreement conditioned on the cessation of Hezbollah's attacks and the withdrawal of its forces from the border areas of southern Lebanon.

Naim Qassem, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon, described the Lebanese government's agreement with Israel, drafted with U.S. mediation, as a "surrender and a complete failure," stating that Hezbollah is only committed to a complete cessation of attacks, a ceasefire, and the withdrawal of Israel from Lebanese territory.

He also considered the disarmament of Hezbollah as tantamount to the destruction of Lebanon's power and emphasized that this issue is unacceptable to Hezbollah.

Following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah Lebanon, the United States has taken on the role of mediator to resolve border disputes and security issues between the two parties. Meanwhile, the issue of disarming Hezbollah and the implementation of the ceasefire remains one of the most significant points of contention among the Lebanese government, Hezbollah, and Israel.

دبیرکل گروه حزب‌الله طرح آتش‌بسی را که دولت‌های لبنان و اسرائیل در مذاکراتی با میانجی‌گری آمریکا بر سر آن توافق کرده بودند، رد کرد.

ایالات متحده روز چهارشنبه اعلام کرده بود که لبنان و اسرائیل بر سر اجرای یک آتش‌بس به توافق رسیده‌اند؛ توافقی که مشروط به توقف حملات حزب‌الله و خروج نیروهای این گروه از مناطق مرزی جنوب لبنان است.

نعیم قاسم، دبیرکل حزب‌الله لبنان، توافق دولت لبنان با اسرائیل که با میانجی‌گری آمریکا تدوین شده است را «تسلیم و شکست تمام‌عیار» توصیف کرد و گفت حزب‌الله تنها به توقف کامل حملات، آتش‌بس و خروج اسرائیل از خاک لبنان متعهد است.

او همچنین خلع سلاح حزب‌الله را به معنای از بین رفتن قدرت لبنان دانست و تاکید کرد این موضوع برای حزب‌الله قابل پذیرش نیست.

پس از توافق آتش‌بس میان اسرائیل و حزب‌الله لبنان، آمریکا برای حل‌وفصل اختلافات مرزی و مسائل امنیتی میان دو طرف نقش میانجی را بر عهده گرفته است. در همین حال، موضوع خلع سلاح حزب‌الله و نحوه اجرای آتش‌بس همچنان از مهم‌ترین محورهای اختلاف میان دولت لبنان، حزب‌الله و اسرائیل به شمار می‌رود.
