A White House official told Reuters on Friday that the players of the Iranian national football team have received visas to enter the United States and participate in the World Cup.

Iran's team is set to play its first match in the World Cup on June 15 against New Zealand in Los Angeles. The team will then face Belgium in the same city. The third match will be held in Seattle against Egypt.

Fars, a news agency affiliated with the IRGC, reported that the visas for some "members of the technical and executive staff" of the national team have not yet been issued, and the U.S. embassy has so far "withheld" their issuance.

یک مقام کاخ سفید روز جمعه به خبرگزاری رویترز گفت که بازیکنان تیم ملی فوتبال ایران برای ورود به ایالات متحده و شرکت در جام جهانی فوتبال ویزا دریافت کرده‌اند.

تیم ایران قرار است نخستین دیدار خود در جام جهانی را روز ۲۵ خرداد برابر نیوزیلند در لس‌آنجلس برگزار کند. این تیم سپس در همان شهر به مصاف بلژیک خواهد رفت. بازی سوم در سیاتل مقابل مصر انجام خواهد شد.

فارس، خبرگزاری وابسته به سپاه گزارش داد که ویزای برخی «اعضای کادر فنی و اجرایی» تیم ملی هنوز صادر نشده و سفارت آمریکا تاکنون از صدور آن «خودداری» کرده است.
