Trump: Iran's Assets Will Not Be Released Before Agreement Finalization

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated in an interview with NBC News that as part of any agreement, Iran's frozen assets will not be released from the outset, and no sanctions will be lifted in advance.

He added that he does not insist on including Lebanon in the short-term agreement between Washington and Tehran.

In response to the question of whether these actions will take place after the agreement, he said: "Yes, after that. If they behave properly and fulfill their commitments, then we will start the dialogue."

The U.S. President further mentioned that if he can reach an agreement with Tehran to end the three-month war between the two countries, the U.S. will cooperate with Iran to collect and destroy its high-enriched uranium stockpiles.

He added that if an agreement is not reached, Washington will further weaken the military capabilities of the Islamic Republic so that American forces can safely collect these materials themselves.

Trump expressed his desire to add a new clause to the agreement so that Iran cannot circumvent the agreement's restrictions by purchasing nuclear weapons or related equipment.

He said: "I asked what if they don't produce nuclear weapons themselves but acquire them in some way? I want the agreement to include the terms of buying, obtaining, or acquiring weapons. They have no right to produce nuclear weapons, nor to buy or acquire them. Tehran initially opposed this request a bit but eventually backed down."

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, commented on Mojtaba Khamenei and his whereabouts, saying: "He is severely injured. I don't want to say whether I know where he is or not, but there is a high likelihood that I am aware of Mojtaba Khamenei's location."

Trump also announced that he currently has no intention of withdrawing American forces from the region, even with the fragile ceasefire and his assessment that the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Islamic Republic have been severely damaged.

He added: "The cost of keeping about 50,000 American troops in the region is very minimal, and we may need them to exert pressure in negotiations."

ترامپ: پیش از نهایی شدن توافق، دارایی‌های ایران آزاد نخواهد شد

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، در گفت‌وگو با شبکه ان‌بی‌سی نیوز گفت که به‌عنوان بخشی از هرگونه توافق، دارایی‌های مسدودشده ایران را از ابتدا آزاد نخواهد کرد و هیچ تحریمی را نیز پیشاپیش لغو نخواهد کرد.

او افزود که اصراری ندارد لبنان در توافق کوتاه‌مدت میان واشینگتن و تهران گنجانده شود.

ترامپ در پاسخ به این پرسش که آیا این اقدامات پس از توافق انجام خواهد شد، گفت: «بله، بعد از آن. اگر رفتار مناسبی داشته باشند و به تعهدات خود عمل کنند، آن وقت گفت‌وگو را آغاز می‌کنیم.»

رییس‌جمهور آمریکا اضافه کرد اگر بتواند با تهران برای پایان دادن به جنگ سه‌ماهه میان دو کشور به توافق برسد، آمریکا با ایران برای جمع‌آوری و نابودی ذخایر اورانیوم با غنای بالای این کشور همکاری خواهد کرد.

او افزود در صورت عدم دستیابی به توافق، واشینگتن توان نظامی جمهوری اسلامی را بیش از پیش تضعیف خواهد کرد تا نیروهای آمریکایی بتوانند با امنیت کامل این مواد را خودشان جمع‌آوری کنند.

ترامپ افزود که خواهان اضافه شدن بندی جدید به توافق است تا ایران نتواند با خرید سلاح هسته‌ای یا تجهیزات مرتبط، محدودیت‌های توافق را دور بزند.

او گفت: «پرسیدم اگر آنها خودشان سلاح هسته‌ای تولید نکنند اما آن را خریداری یا به هر شکلی به دست آورند چه؟ من می‌خواهم در متن توافق عبارت خرید، تهیه یا کسب سلاح نیز گنجانده شود. آنها نه حق تولید سلاح هسته‌ای را دارند و نه حق خرید یا دستیابی به آن را. تهران در ابتدا کمی با این درخواست مخالفت کرد اما از موضع خود عقب نشست.»

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهور آمریکا، درباره مجتبی خامنه‌ای و محل اقامت او گفت: «او به‌شدت زخمی شده است. نمی‌خواهم بگویم می‌دانم کجاست یا نه، اما احتمال زیادی وجود دارد که از محل اقامت مجتبی خامنه‌ای مطلع باشم.»

ترامپ همچنین اعلام کرد فعلا قصد خروج نیروهای آمریکایی از منطقه را ندارد؛ حتی با وجود آتش‌بس شکننده و ارزیابی او مبنی بر اینکه توان تهاجمی و دفاعی جمهوری اسلامی به‌شدت آسیب دیده است.

او افزود: «هزینه نگه داشتن حدود ۵۰ هزار نیروی آمریکایی در منطقه بسیار ناچیز است و ممکن است برای اعمال فشار در مذاکرات به آنها نیاز داشته باشیم».
