Itamar Ben Gvir, the far-right Israeli National Security Minister, has called for a severe response following new missile attacks from Iran on northern Israel.

On Sunday evening, he wrote in a brief message in Hebrew on the social media platform X: "Tonight, Tehran must burn!"

Ben Gvir's remarks come as Iran launched a wave of missiles toward Israel just hours after an Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli army has stated that these missiles were intercepted, and no immediate casualties have been reported.

Itamar Ben Gvir is considered a hardliner in Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet and has recently criticized the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

Naftali Bennett, the former Prime Minister of Israel, reacted to the missile attacks from the Islamic Republic on Israel by writing on X: "Restraint or a symbolic response will send the message to our enemies that shedding the blood of our citizens is cost-free; therefore, Israel must act powerfully and effectively."

Bennett wrote: "This is a moment of testing: 'Is Israel a sovereign country capable of defending itself?'"

The former Prime Minister of Israel stated: "In this matter, we all, all citizens of Israel, stand together."

ایتامار بن گویر، وزیر امنیت ملی راست‌گرای تندرو اسرائیل، پس از حملات جدید موشکی ایران به شمال اسرائیل، خواستار واکنشی شدید شده است.

او عصر یکشنبه در پیامی کوتاه به زبان عبری در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس نوشت: «امشب تهران باید بسوزد!»

اظهارات ایتامار بن گویر در حالی مطرح شده که ایران ساعاتی پس از حمله اسرائیل به حومه جنوبی بیروت، موجی از موشک‌ها را به سوی اسرائیل شلیک کرد. ارتش اسرائیل اعلام کرده است که این موشک‌ها رهگیری شده‌اند و گزارشی از تلفات فوری منتشر نشده است.

ایتامار بن گویر از چهره‌های تندرو کابینه بنیامین نتانیاهو به شمار می‌رود و در روزهای اخیر نیز از توافق آتش‌بس میان اسرائیل و لبنان انتقاد کرده بود.

نفتالی بنت، نخست‌وزیر پیشین اسرائیل، در واکنش به حملات موشکی جمهوری اسلامی به اسرائیل، در شبکه ایکس نوشت: «خویشتنداری یا واکنشی نمادین، این پیام را به دشمنان ما منتقل خواهد کرد که ریختن خون شهروندانمان بی‌هزینه است؛ از این‌رو اسرائیل باید با قدرت و به‌طور موثر عمل کند.»

بنت نوشت: «این یک لحظه آزمون است: «آیا اسرائیل کشوری دارای حاکمیت است که توانایی دفاع از خود را دارد؟»

نخست‌وزیر پیشین اسرائیل نوشت: «در این موضوع، همه ما، تمامی شهروندان اسرائیل، در کنار یکدیگر ایستاده‌ایم.»
