The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency approved a resolution supported by the United States on Wednesday, which calls on Iran to declare its remaining enriched uranium stockpiles and allow inspectors to verify them.
According to Reuters, diplomats present at the closed meeting stated that the resolution, presented by the United States, Britain, France, and Germany, was adopted with 21 votes in favor, 3 against, and 10 abstentions.
These diplomats noted that Russia, China, and Niger voted against the resolution. They also added that Venezuela was not allowed to participate in the voting.
Iran's representative mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna described the resolution as "political" and "lacking the professionalism expected from a technical body" in response to its approval. The statement from this mission emphasized that Tehran "will not refrain from exercising its legitimate rights, including in response to this flawed resolution."
The adoption of this resolution could complicate ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at reaching a peace agreement.

شورای حکام آژانس بینالمللی انرژی اتمی روز چهارشنبه قطعنامهای با حمایت آمریکا را تصویب کرد که از ایران میخواهد ذخایر باقیمانده اورانیوم غنیشده خود را اعلام کند و به بازرسان اجازه دهد آنها را راستیآزمایی کنند.
به گزارش خبرگزاری رویترز، دیپلماتهای حاضر در نشست غیرعلنی اعلام کردند که این قطعنامه که از سوی ایالات متحده، بریتانیا، فرانسه و آلمان ارائه شده بود، با ۲۱ رأی موافق، ۳ رأی مخالف و ۱۰ رأی ممتنع به تصویب رسید.
به گفته این دیپلماتها، روسیه، چین و نیجر به این قطعنامه رأی مخالف دادند. آنها همچنین افزودند که ونزوئلا اجازه شرکت در رأیگیری را نداشت.
هیئت نمایندگی ایران در سازمان ملل و سایر سازمانهای بینالمللی در وین در واکنش به تصویب این قطعنامه، آن را «سیاسی» و «عاری از حرفهایگری مورد انتظار از یک نهاد فنی» خواند.
در بیانیه این هیئت نمایندگی آمده است که تهران «از حقوق مسلم خود، از جمله در پاسخ به این قطعنامه ناقص، کوتاهی نخواهد کرد.»
تصویب این قطعنامه میتواند مذاکرات جاری بین ایران و آمریکا برای رسیدن به توافق صلح را پیچیدهتر کند.
