Scott Basset, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, announced in an interview with "Fox News" that, given the progress of negotiations, a peace agreement with Iran is expected to be finalized "likely by the end of this week or on Monday."

Basset pointed out that Donald Trump's decisions to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons imposed short-term costs and pressures on the fuel market and American families' economies. He added, "We understand that the past few months have been tough, and the rise in energy prices has consumed a large portion of wage growth, but we are moving past this critical situation."

The U.S. Treasury Secretary emphasized that the country's economic infrastructure is currently functioning very robustly and that the energy market is well-supplied. He noted that with the resolution of this dispute and the containment of inflation, global oil prices have decreased by about 25 to 30 percent, and domestic gasoline prices have dropped by more than 10 percent from their peak, with the downward trend in prices and reduction in living costs for people continuing strongly.

اسکات بسنت، وزیر خزانه‌داری ایالات متحده، در گفتگوی با «فاکس‌نیوز» اعلام کرد که با توجه به روند پیشرفت مذاکرات، انتظار می‌رود توافق صلح با ایران «احتمالا تا پایان همین هفته یا روز دوشنبه نهایی شود».

بسنت با اشاره به اینکه تصمیمات دونالد ترامپ برای جلوگیری از دستیابی تهران به سلاح هسته‌ای، هزینه‌ها و فشارهای کوتاه‌مدتی را به بازار سوخت و اقتصاد خانواده‌های آمریکایی وارد کرد، افزود: «ما درک می‌کنیم که در ماه‌های اخیر شرایط سختی سپری شد و افزایش بهای انرژی بخش زیادی از رشد دستمزدها را بلعید، اما ما در حال عبور از این وضعیت بحرانی هستیم.»

وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا با تاکید بر اینکه زیرساخت‌های اقتصادی کشور در حال حاضر بسیار قدرتمند عمل می‌کنند و بازار انرژی به خوبی تامین شده است، خاطرنشان کرد که با حل‌وفصل این مناقشه و مهار تورم، بهای جهانی نفت حدود ۲۵ تا ۳۰ درصد و قیمت بنزین در بازار داخلی بیش از ۱۰ درصد از اوج خود کاهش یافته و روند نزولی قیمت‌ها و کاهش هزینه‌های زندگی مردم با قدرت ادامه خواهد یافت.
