Yair Lapid, former Prime Minister and one of the leaders of the opposition in Israel, sharply criticized Benjamin Netanyahu on X, describing the agreement between Iran and the U.S. as "the most shocking failure of Israel's foreign and security policy" and holding the Prime Minister fully responsible for it.
Mr. Lapid wrote that he hopes "the reports about the agreement with Iran are not true" and pointed out 13 instances that he considers failures and shortcomings of Mr. Netanyahu, including that:
"He sold an overly optimistic narrative to the Americans without fully outlining the map of dangers and lost their trust in the midst of war."
He also wrote that Mr. Netanyahu "failed to convince the Americans to bomb Iran's oil and energy facilities" and to "include the issue of ballistic missiles in the agreement or even in the negotiations."
Mr. Lapid further noted that the Prime Minister of Israel "advanced the plan regarding the Kurds without considering Turkey's predictable reaction and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's influence in Washington."

یائیر لاپید، نخستوزیر سابق و از رهبران مخالف دولت اسرائیل، در شبکه ایکس با انتقاد شدید از بنیامین نتانیاهو امضای تفاهمنامه بین ایران و آمریکا را «تکاندهندهترین شکست سیاست خارجی و امنیتی اسرائیل» توصیف کرد و مسئولیت کامل آن را متوجه نخستوزیر دانست.
آقای لاپید نوشت امیدوار است که «گزارشها درباره توافق با ایران درست نباشد» و به ۱۳ مورد اشاره کرد و آنها را ناکامی و کوتاهیهای آقای نتانیاهو دانست از جمله اینکه:
«او یک روایت بیش از حد خوشبینانه را به آمریکاییها فروخت، بدون اینکه نقشه خطرات را کاملا برایشان تشریح کند و در میانه جنگ اعتماد آنها را از دست داد.»
او همچنین نوشت که آقای نتانیاهو «نتوانست آمریکاییها را متقاعد کند که تاسیسات نفتی و انرژی ایران را بمباران کنند» و «مسئله موشکهای بالستیک را در توافق یا حتی در مذاکرات بگنجانند.»
آقای لاپید همچنین نوشت که نخستوزیر اسرائیل «برنامه مربوط به کردها را پیش برد بدون آنکه واکنش قابل پیشبینی ترکیه و نفوذ رجب طیب اردوغان در واشنگتن را در نظر بگیرد.»
