Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that an agreement with the Islamic Republic is imminent, but Tehran has not yet confirmed its acceptance of it.

Trump added that he intends to issue a statement soon announcing that the U.S. has reached an agreement with the Islamic Republic.

He stated that this agreement, if finalized, will be signed electronically either by him or by his Vice President, J.D. Vance.

The U.S. President described this agreement on Sunday as a significant step towards ending the nearly four-month conflict.

Trump also mentioned that the agreement includes the Islamic Republic's commitment not to acquire nuclear weapons and the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He added that there is no rush to remove nuclear materials from Iran, and this matter can be pursued at a later stage.

Trump said, "Later, when we are ready to act, we will collect the nuclear materials. I think this will happen within a month or two, and there is no rush."

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، در گفت‌وگو با وال استریت ژورنال گفت توافق با جمهوری اسلامی قریب‌الوقوع است، اما تهران هنوز موافقت خود با آن را تایید نکرده است.

ترامپ افزود قصد دارد به‌زودی بیانیه‌ای صادر کند که در آن اعلام خواهد شد آمریکا با جمهوری اسلامی به توافق رسیده است.

او گفت این توافق، در صورت نهایی شدن، یا توسط خود او یا از سوی جی‌دی ونس، معاون رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، به‌صورت الکترونیکی امضا خواهد شد.

رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا روز یکشنبه این توافق را گامی بزرگ در مسیر پایان دادن به درگیری نزدیک به چهارماهه توصیف کرد.

ترامپ همچنین گفت این توافق شامل تعهد جمهوری اسلامی به دست نیافتن به سلاح هسته‌ای و بازگشایی فوری تنگه هرمز خواهد بود. او افزود عجله‌ای برای خارج کردن مواد هسته‌ای از ایران وجود ندارد و این موضوع می‌تواند در مرحله‌ای بعدی دنبال شود.

ترامپ گفت: «بعدا و زمانی که آماده باشیم وارد عمل شویم، مواد هسته‌ای را جمع‌آوری خواهیم کرد. به نظرم طی یک یا دو ماه آینده این کار انجام می‌شود و عجله‌ای وجود ندارد.»
