The Ma'ariv newspaper reported, citing Israeli sources, that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, explicitly stated in a conversation with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, that Israel does not consider itself bound by the clause related to Lebanon in the agreement between the U.S. and the Iranian government.

According to the report, Netanyahu said that the Israeli army will not withdraw from Lebanon, will remain in its current positions, and will continue its actions to neutralize the threats from Hezbollah, including the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and responding to any attacks against Israel.

Ma'ariv wrote that the understanding of Israeli sources is that "a potential U.S. agreement with Iran will not constrain Israel's actions in Lebanon. The main message is: Israel has independent security-strategic interests in Lebanon and intends to uphold them."

The newspaper added: "Now it remains to be seen how these clarifications—beyond the phone call between Netanyahu and Trump—will play out in reality."

روزنامه معاریو به نقل از منابع اسرائیلی گزارش داد بنیامین نتانیاهو، نخست‌وزیر این کشور، در گفت‌وگو با دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، به صراحت اعلام کرد که اسرائیل خود را به بند مربوط به لبنان در توافق میان آمریکا و حکومت ایران متعهد نمی‌داند.

بر اساس این گزارش، نتانیاهو گفت که ارتش اسرائیل از لبنان عقب‌نشینی نخواهد کرد، در مواضع فعلی خود باقی خواهد ماند و به اقدامات خود برای خنثی کردن تهدیدهای حزب‌الله، از جمله نابودی زیرساخت‌های تروریستی و پاسخ به هرگونه حمله علیه اسرائیل، ادامه خواهد داد.

به نوشته معاریو، برداشت منابع اسرائیلی آن است که «توافق احتمالی ایالات متحده با ایران، دست اسرائیل را در عرصه لبنان نخواهد بست. پیام اصلی این است: اسرائیل منافع امنیتی-راهبردی مستقلی در لبنان دارد و قصد دارد بر آن پافشاری کند.»

این روزنامه نوشت: «اکنون باید دید این شفاف‌سازی‌ها — فراتر از تماس تلفنی نتانیاهو و ترامپ — در بوته واقعیت چگونه عمل خواهد کرد.»
